What does it do? Very simply. This is FOUR feedback loops in one box. Each channel has the following controls : Kill (switch) Warp (knob) Level (knob) Warp (switch) Eye (switch) Eye (photo-sensitive eye) That means, you can run 4 seperate effects loops, with the option of having them self-oscillate, then control each channel's oscillation via the warp knobs, or hands free photo-sensitive eye. Also, you can use the channels as a simple mixer, inserting drum machines, other instruments, pre-recorded sounds, etc. etc.

- The loop matrix T4 is a four channel array of effect loops (send/return) with the ability to feedback into each channel and control that feedback with either (or both) of a knob and photo-electric eye. It's basically four "Total Sonic Annihilation" pedals in one. The T4 is a table top unit, using toggle switches to enable/disable each channel (there are 'stomp' variations available as well). These switches are true bypass, and when off - no signal goes through that channel, allowing you to reconfigure your layout live without interruptions in the signal. This box becomes an excellent centerpiece to a large array of pedals and opens up new sounds with its feedback features. The photo-eye feature adds an organic element to those sounds since they can be played in a light place by placement of any light blocker over them. In a dark place, it's fun to flick a flashlight over them for noise spikes. Each channel feeds into the next, so when all channels are on and the feedback ('warp') is off, it's the same as having all of your pedals plugged into each other straight through. This box, like all feedback loopers, makes no sound on its own. The noises come out based on the pedals and loops you plug into it. Prior to owning this, I did a lot of my feedback control off of some simple mixer board wiring, which would use up effect send and board channels. I much prefer having a dedicated unit that's right in the middle of the gear like any other effect box.
- Good Points: It's very compact. Solid components. Having Multiple loop and feedback channels helps coach new noises out of old pedals. The true bypass switches allow you to tweak or reconfigure effect loops without killing current sounds. The 'photo-eye' allows for organic textures to be played.
- Bad Points: The photo-eyes are dependent on the light around them, and what you may get them to do in a personal studio can differ on stage (Affects all effects that have the eye). There is a learning curve (not really a bad point, just cautionary) about which effects will work best with the Loop Matrix. Having multiple channels, it's very easy to put a sound killing one on, flick the switch, and kill your volume - spend some time coming up with a new layout before taking this thing out live.
