Wyllie Rising Sun

Wyllie Rising Sun

Shin-ei Superfuzz. Classic fuzz from yesteryear. Modified much more in my design to include a control for the octave, full sweep on the notch filter, and a switch for total freak-out, all out blasting.

  • This is a fuzz pedal. In a lot of ways it is the perfect distortion. It has knobs for boost, drive, octave, tone, and volume. The boost and drive don't really give you more or less overdrive just kind of move the distortion around, there's no 'clean' setting if this pedal is on. The octave knob is supposed to be the level of one octave up and I can't tell if it does anything at all. The tone knob has really abrupt thresholds, every sound you could want is in there but it does jump around a little more than you might like right off the bat. The main problem with this pedal is the volume. While it does increase the volume from other pedals that aren't distortion, you're going to need another distortion or some kind of volume booster for direct line-in sort of recordings with this pedal. The problem is that it defeats the purpose of such an expensive pedal to have that amazing tone trashed out by a metal zone or whatever. Through an amp is the best way to go with this one. These are hand-numbered, mine was #15 and was hand-delivered by the artist. The engraving on the faceplate is beautiful as well, so part of the high price is paying for art.
