Uses unique hybrid digital/analog circuitry to deliver sounds that no other pedal has achieved. Creates effects like flange, chorus, doubling, and slapback plus alien blips and even the sound of a Huey chopper! You can choose standard periodic modulation or random modulation (which randomizes the wave forms of your signal) for each effect with the flick of a switch. Includes controls for range, depth, rate, feedback, mix and randomness, so you can really fine tune your effects.

  • Alien domestic dispute! It sounds like a skitzo flange talking to itself. This pedal makes a lot of noise. It is a great sound source. It is very signature. The knobs do a lot to the sound. The random knob is key, it slows down the random feature, but after listening to it for a while you’ll start to hear a pattern. The toggle switch on top also allows you to switch between a siren type wave or random wave. This pony does a lot of tricks but there is no question what its name is.
  • Good Points: Built like a tank! Control interface is a++ for sound manipulation.
  • Bad Points: almost too signature. Hard to hide. The power supply is very sensitive. It has to have its own wart.

  • Nice but sounds kinda digital to me, it just never impressed me. The IC's are sanded down on it so who knows what it is. So with that caution use it early in you efects chain as a final stage it may show it's weakness. I like this think but it lacks the CV ins to mak it really amazing. ( note: most of these "guitar pedals" lack this.) This pedal is nice but on't as nice as expected.... just isn't very organic sounding. Still a nice pedal for noize and oth experiments.
  • Good Points: Clean sound, randomization.
  • Bad Points: chips ae sanded= no way to replace them/fix it! anyone have shemos? also it sounds a bit digital. needs more control.

  • Imagine a sample / hold flanger and you've got this pedal. Sure, it can use a triangle wave, and sound like a standard flanger. But let's face it, nobody is buying a pedal called "Rand-O-Matic" because they want a normal sounding pedal. This thing is great to create a drunken, chaotic wobbling sound out of anything you run through it. As stated in the previous review, the feedback knob is sensitive. You could get some real high pitch squealing if you don't watch it. Also, the mix knob on mine is a little odd. If it is set for a 100% wet mix it sounds pretty muddy. Maybe mine's broken. Who cares, I like what it does... By the way, try to get a power supply for it, as it goes through batteries FAST!
  • Good Points: Random waveform flanging.
  • Bad Points: No longer made. Eats Batteries. Expensive.

  • Had one a while ago and returned it because it didn't work. Bought another one a while after that which is the one i have to this day. an extremely strange pedal. Serves as a randomizer, flanger, and half assed phaser. The is a lot of control given the useful mix knob and feedback knob. The feedback knob seems to be sensitive. It allows for either very subtle feedback or a high squealing, unaudible feedback.
  • Good Points: Offers the rare random wave generator, much better than the random wave generator on the Electrix Filter Factory which i also own. The abilty to switch between either random or tri waves allows for a choice and multi functional pedal
  • Bad Points: The mix knob if set to the middle decreases signal output drastically. More so than any other mix controlled pedal i have used. This makes it hard to use if you want to switch it off and on during one song since your signal output will vary.
