I tried to use it in studio when my band was recording guitars to make sound a little different in some channels - yes, it was great for it. But as a "standing alone" distortion as I think it is very weak((( It has snotty loose sound and low gain and sustain. But may be for playing hardrock its not a bad choice!
Good Points: great for mixing in pedal chain for getting a little fatter sounds
Bad Points: Not very cheap for such a crap / very weak in "standalone" using
