THis is a really great unit for noise! It has 10 different amp models for variable tones, as well as a Synth. Comes with a wide variety of compressor/limiter,modulation, and ambient effects. There's even one that mimics feedback!! The parameters of all these effects can be adjusted and stored in one of 50 user programs. It also comes with 50 preset programs that are fun to scroll thru and play around with. On top of all that, it comes with a rhythm section of 100 different beats/styles and up to 8 can be chained at once. One really cool thing about this (although I don't think KORG would think so...) is the Phrase Trainer JAM function. QUite simply you can play back a pattern along with a selected rhythm. The thing is, when you do this, there is some degration in the drums. That can only be a 'plus' for noisicians!! There is also a 1/8" AUX jack to hook up a CD player or whatever and it can also be transmit to wireless headphones (tho' that REALLY kills the batteries).
Overall, it's a fun and portable gadget to play with by itself or to hook up to other external sources for more inspiration. If you have the extra cash socked away, this would be a recommended purchase!
Good Points: backlit display, oodles of effects w/ adjustable parameters, AUX out, 100 on-board rhythms, extremely portable (I keep mine in a palm pilot case!), high quality sound, EXCELLENT value
Bad Points: No the sturdiest plastic case (wouldn't advise using it live along with solidly built pedals), will eat thru batteries faster if using backlit display and/or wireless transmitter, most effects have a certain amount of reverb on them
