Johnson Echo Analog Delay EAD-2
The Johnson Analog Echo Delay EAD-2 has up to 800ms of swelling analog delay reproducting the sounds of vintage tape delay machines. You can control the amount of repeats, delay time and 'quality' to dial in just the sound you want. All this in a rugged metal housing. Powered by a 9-volt battery or a standard negative tip barrel type power adapter. Supposedly, this pedal can easily be tweaked to increase the delay time.

- I don't know what the difference is between the two Johnson delays listed here. I think I have a more recent model of this one. I'm charmed by this cheap piece of crap. Sure, it's muddy, but the controls allow you to pull some unique sounds out of this thing. In a FB loop, this is best used with as few other pedals as possible, as it gets buried. With just this and an EQ in a loop, the Blend, Quality, and Time controls were interacting in ways that my expensive delays never have. I love this pedal. And analog!
- Good Points: analog cheap unique sound possibilities
- Bad Points: Pretty sure it's gonna just die on me someday, as it's made to "starter gear" standards of construction, for example, mine says "Pegen" instead of "Regen". Muddy, but you can avoid overloadig it (Fuck it I like mud)
