Original early 80's yellow box, not the reissue yellow. One generation up from the graybox. Watch for reissues sold as "original" or "vintage" (just like the orange box compressor) For the pre, it can be hard to tell the difference between new reissue unless you know what to look for inside and hear it with a full on tube amp. Bought a few years ago before the original yellow was popular.
Good Points: None better for pure, clean overdrive of a tube amp front end. Equally as great with vintage (60's) tube amps as with newer high gain tube amps.
Bad Points: None. Watch for reissues sold as "vintage" or "original." Also, some idiots are harvesting original components off of the board of the old units and replacing with newer, inferior parts.
