  • My first experience with the RDS series was a 1900 I found cheap at a pawn shop. It got me hooked on "vintage" rack delays. Speed & width options allow for even more noise possibilities. The 7.6 has 7.6seconds of delay stock. However some web searching shows some modifications that are too cool. The first is that all RDS units have internal trim pots. The best one is the trim pot that allows you to push the delay time even farther. http://www.loopers-delight.com/tools/timemachine/timemachine_mod.html I got 13 seconds instead of 7.6, and got almost 4 seconds instead of 1.9 doing the same on the 1900.

The next mod kills the mute function on the 7.6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPzx0HYDfrc Stock, the unit mutes the current effect when switching. Cutting the resistor allows you to build a complete wall of noise bouncing between effects. If you get the chance to pick up any of the RDS Time Machine series jump on it. Even if delay isn't your thing, the speed and width adjustments make it more than just a straight echo/delay. Average price looking at Ebay for a while puts them between $90 and $150- for any model most of the time.
