DigiTech Hyper Phase

DigiTech Hyper Phase

The Hyper Phase™ and the Turbo Flange™ each deliver 7 operational modes, instead of the typical one mode only that you find in some other pedals. These operational modes are easily selectable using the mode control allowing you to choose from a selection of awesome voicing sounds, triggering feature, and useful step functions. Now you are no longer limited to a one-trick pedal. You can dial in the exact phaser or flanger sound you want! Both the Hyper Phase™ and the Turbo Flange™ each have Speed, Depth, Regen, and Mode controls. Outputs for both pedals include Left/Mono and Right.

  • this pedal is a permanent in my set up. i have a distortion in front of it and when used together a Pennywise-esq sound comes out. with the speed turned up full watery sounds can be used in a manner that Ice Cube would enjoy. there are 7 different modes and thank goodness they're labeled. types 1-4 are all awesome, 4 is a constant fall that i've been grooving with recently but i usually keep it on 1 or 2.
  • Good Points: instructions on pedal, 7 different phases
  • Bad Points: type 5-7 (trigger up/down and step)

  • This is a pretty good phase unit. The speed knob has wide range (and really interesting things can happen at full speed...), and some of the different types of phase it has are hard to find (at least for me) elsewhere. The "step" mode does what seems to be random steps of phase, which can sound interesting in the right place. And you can get some extreme sounds from fooling with the triggered falling and rising phases. It would have been nice if you could fool with the phase volume, though.
  • Good Points: Great, wide speed control Interesting types of phase.
  • Bad Points: Eats batteries too quickly. No phase level control.
