  • This is, sadly, a very crummy, lackluster distortion... It really doesn't add anything special to any chain or loop I've tried it in, and the knobs do very little to the sound... There's no grit, no texture, no interesting tone... Even the "Sub" switch seems useless! There's no extreme bass or treble (or even mid-range) frequency boost to be found here. One upside is, if you can manage soldering on all those tiny little components and IC's, there are LOTS of circuit bending options... enough to probably warrant using a break-out enclosure (trying to mount switches over the battery compartment can be a nightmare--very little room for error). ...and don't think you can get away with hot gluing those bend connections in like I thought I could--I now have a PCB covered in gunk I'm afraid to pull off for fear of tearing up the components! I have not attempted this, but, when it comes to soldering to the tiny IC pins, taking a razor and coating the surrounding pins in glue (blocking the target pin from getting coated with the razor), might make it easier to circuit bend these without creating a solder bridge. Either way, unless you're big on circuit bending, you could probably find a better use for your money...
  • Good Points: Cheap. Bendable. Easy to disassemble.
  • Bad Points: It's a very uninteresting, bland, lifeless distortion (EVEN for Noise)... The cheap price tag wasn't so satisfying based on what I got for it! A potential pain in the ass to re-assemble after stuffing it with switches and wiring. Hard to bend if you're bad at soldering like me.
