  • This is a one-trick pony that does it's one trick very, very well. Helps to bring out the definition in your signal. According to BBE it corrects the inconsistencies in "fundamental and harmonic frequency" on most speaker designs. Which basically means that (from my layman understanding) it delays the mids or lows of your signal very, very slightly so that your highs and harmonics hit your ears at the same time or earlier and are not lost in the mix. Lo Contour and Process knobs are basically lows and highs, but the interaction is very subtle and depends on your original signal.

The effect can be almost unnoticeable depending on your setup. I suggest setting both knobs pretty low and playing with it on for a while, then turn it off and see if you even notice anything (e.g. less punch to the upper mids). If you do and it matters to you then you'll want this pedal :)

With the Process set generously high I could get my cheap tele copy through an even cheaper Laney solidstate sound like a sweet chime-y Vox tube.
  • Good Points: Improves definition/clarity Restores harmonics/highs lost in the chain
  • Bad Points: Probably no use to noise makers, a multi-band EQ would be more suitable for shaping your sound Pretty much only for the tone freaks
