I picked one of these out recently primarily for looping. It has four outputs to simulate tape echo heads like the original E1 and also a normal delay. There are many specifically unique parameters for the delay which take a lot of getting used to. I use a DL4 for looping but everyone has been ranting on about the Akai. The best feature by far is erasing overdubs. You can layer them all up and take them away back to your source riff. Very cool for epic buildups. If you use a DL4 and want a more serious looper this is a good move but you have to take into account the very different operation of the unit.
Good Points: Sturdy
4 Outputs
Tap Tempo
Looper with Overdub Erasing
Practical size
Normal/Tape echo
Bad Points: Hard to learn
PSU is impractically large.
