  • Very simple, very basic intro theremin. Proximity of your hand (or anything else) to the antenna affects pitch. No volume control (a la Moog theremin), so add a volume pedal if you want that. Circuit board comes already assembled...and both of mine came covered in hot glue, so no bending :( Output can be adjusted between sine/square. The whole thing can be housed in the casing of your choice, as long as it's not metal. Sounds great w/ heavy reverb, delay, flange, or other modulation FX.
  • Good Points: *inexpensive *preassembled...no wiring/soldering *can be custom housed in (almost) whatever you like
  • Bad Points: *no volume control *pitch control not as precise as other theremins, but whatever

  • I purchased two kits and put them together quickly and easily despite limited understanding of electronics. Simplistic, yet well designed as well as sturdy.
  • Good Points: Excellent sound quality. I placed two kits in the same housing - one configured for the clean sound, the other set up with the "saw-toothed" sound. I'm now using it in a band during live performances! AND making theremins for other bands who fall in love with it!!
  • Bad Points: So much of the kit is put together, I didn't learn as much about electronics as I'd like, but I guess that's what books are for....

  • The quality of this theremin is wonderful. I have had mine for two years . The only trouble came from the pot. It was replaced by theremaniacs for free. This is one of two things I use for noise. I run mine through a rat distortion (early 80's),Boss reverb/delay,and a rocktec chorus.
  • Good Points: Easy to work with. Mountable in anything you want. Theremaniacs replaces any bad parts for free. Best quality for a hand made instrument.
  • Bad Points: No bad points at all!!!
