this is a great sampler. i really like the ribbon/slider controllers. used to control arpeggiations its a winning combo. you can makes some great basslines etc. but it has a lot of great effects too 2 at a time and 2 banks. plus the tubes on the output really make the sound more analog and compresses it a bit. but i got rid of it because it can only do 32nds on 4 bars of 16 and it doesn't do 64ths at all. if you could give a sh!t about this its great.
Good Points: sturdy. nice output. useful effects. nice controller.
Bad Points: no 64ths. no midi out from the controller and arpeggiator combo. man am i a nerd.

This machine is amazing. One of the deepest and most complex devices I've ever owned. It handles bizarre time signatures, sampling, etc. Not only does it have three effects processors, but you can set them up in groups of two or three, and use different sets separately. This is a wild machine.
Good Points: Tough construction.
Tubes.
Easy programming.
Live playability.
Responsive controls.
Audio input for live effects use.
Lots of flashy blinky lights.
Four outputs!
Arpeggiator thingamabobber.
etc.
etc.

i got this last year and am still discovering the wide range of sounds it can create: from heavy industrial sounds to high-pitched ear-drilling sines. the tube gain is a nice feature to warm up the sound. it has a pretty good filter part. My favorite effects are the distortion, decimator, ring modulator and reverb. (if you want a reliable polyvalent machine with good noise potential, this is it. otherwise, you might be happier buying various pedals or racks.
