Effector 13 Truly Beautiful Disaster
The TBD Oscillating Fuzz / Feedback Loop consists of two effects in one pedal. First, there is the feedback loop (with photo-sensitive eye), which enhances effects placed in the SEND and RETURN loop of the TBD. Second, there is the oscillating fuzz, which adds an amazing amount of texture (and if needed, chaos) to the effect in the feedback loop. The feedback loop runs _before_ the oscillating fuzz, and they are both seperate, which means you can have one on at a time, or both.

- I used to have the scaled down version of the Truly Beautiful Disaster (TBD) known as the "Disaster Fuzz". It was much more basic than the TBD and only had two knobs, one for output level and another for oscillation intensity.
- Good Points: Easily tuned to various pitches. Could act as a output level-knob-controlled theramin with the oscillation knob dimed. Very synthy sounding overall.
- Bad Points: Nullified other dirtboxes when cascaded with them. Kind of muddy. Though it served its purpose well, pretty much a one trick pony. Not very interesting with the oscillation bypassed.

- The best part of this pedal is not the pedal itself (although the fuzz is quite grand) but it's ability to transform pretty much all of your other pedals into their own evil twins. Buying this little device multiplies the number of effects you have at your disposal exponentially, particularly if you consider possible combinations of effects within the loop. There are other pedals that serve this function, but this one is just so much more solidly built and reliable. The price/function ratio is awesome, really; you're getting two pedals for the price of one and they're both absolutely wonderful. In my use of this pedal, it's become my right-hand... uh... pedal in many situations. This device can quickly become a centerpiece of just about any setup.
- Good Points: so many options. the photo eye is blast way high quality construction logical yet blazingly wild pretty
- Bad Points: the backwards knobs (top three) can be a bit confusing if you operate enough stuff at once that you can't always focus on one at a time the jacks should be labeled, but you can just write it on if it bugs you that much

- Super keen beast! This pedal is massively versatile. A fuzz box that you can tweak right into self oscillation. Fuzz tweaking into a krackle too. Built in FX loop can be added or set to feedback! When used as a feedback loop everything is really nuts. All the pedals in the loop react differently when set to feedback. Wild experimentation ensues! There is also an photo- sensitive eye which will tweek the feedback loop. I have been able to get everything from wrenching feedback crunch to ambient swirly washes of noiz. Way cool little beast and very affoardable! BEWARE: The knobs are reversed on all Effector 13 products. (it's just how he makes 'em.) The FX loop(when set to feedback) is REALLY LOUD! So realize that if you kick in the Fuzz as well a drop in signal will occur. Be prepared for when you release the Fuzz if you are using the feedback loop. The creator of this beast is Ever Was who is extremely nice and helpful with any questions you may have.
- Good Points: Well built. Excellent knobs and switches. PLENTY of tweek in each knob! Runs off of standard 9 volt power - battery or adapter. Lots and lots of sounds to be discovered.
- Bad Points: In and Out jacks should be marked. The power polarity should be on the unit as well. I bought a Radio Shack adapter and 'OF COURSE' set it to the wrong polarity. Thought i might have damaged the unit but it's o.k. If you use the RatShack adapter the polarity needs to have a (-) NEGATIVE TIP.
