- These retail new at an extortionate price so first off, if your interested go 2nd hand. Mine has the chunky rubber knobs on it. I think this has become a sustainer than an octaver. It tends to get a bit robotic with my strat but its filthy with a dual humbucker. You can crank this into psych or have a nice mellow just over fuzz. If you want crazy octave Go MXR, I wouldn't pay more than for this.

- Not a typical octave fuzz. The octave it adds to the signal des not sound like a synth tone (MXR Blue Box and its ilk) but rather it sounds like some strange eq-ing. With the tone knob turned all the way down there is a mild ring modulator tone generated. Strange... The fuzz it generates is a harsh, square wave, fuzz. The unfortuneate side effects of this fuzz is that it has a tendency to kill sustain, and it isn't as loud as I'd like from a fuzzbox. It's pretty good to use with synths, especially tones that have passed through a BPF. It's not good to use in a feedback loop, due to it's gate like qualities. You can add some interesting textures to high gain sunds with this one.
- Good Points: Harsh sound. Interacts well with band pass filters.
- Bad Points: Not loud enough. Inadvertant gating effect can be annoying...
