DOD Thrash Master FX59
It only has 3 knobs: Level, Presence, and Distortion. It is pretty noisy, and gets really cool feedback easily. A great unit if you like playing loud and annoying stuff filled with feedback and treble. This pedal has TONS of gain and low end. All that and a hot pink paint job....

- one of my go-to pedals. <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBNe1JKeDmk&feature=player_embedded">hierchiss contact mic</a> -> thrashmaster -> death metal -> super octave = DESTRUCTION. i use it mainly for the high end, and maybe i'm missing something, but i don't see how this is good for lows.. the prescense knob really acts more like a filter than anything else.. it basically sucks all the treble out of your sound without actually doing anything to the low end. still, i crank everything all the way and it destroys. if you turn the distortion knob all the way down, you get a good almost overdrive sounding distortion that's good for vocals.

- use it with a contact mic, another distortion and an octave and you're golden - Bad Points: - typical DOD issues (power supply, battery clip)
- the paint job is horrible. it doesn't bother me at all, but every time i gig with it, it garners at least one "what's that faggy pink pedal you're using?" - Price Paid: US$0.00

- I have a hard time distinguishing this pedal from the Metal Maniac in some setups. Two things I did notice, though, this one seems to have more volume on tap, and slightly more treble (and thicker bass with the Presence knob rolled back). Otherwise, it's nothing to write home about if you already have the Metal Maniac. Both are good pedals, but together, they can be kind of redundant.
- Good Points: Nice distortion overall. Good for processing signals. Simple. Good for contact mic stuff. IT'S PINK!
- Bad Points: I bitch about it constantly, but I really hate pedal collectors! Yet ANOTHER one-time "cheap" and "crappy" pedal that goes for more than it should for no good reason these days... I really think it's absurd that these often fetch prices as high as 80-90 USD... Nothing to write home about if you own a Metal Maniac already!

- This is quite an ordinary distortion pedal. It doesn't do much in my setup but it's not that bad either. It adds some high frequencies to the mix. It sounds great when coupled with another distortion, plus it's an excellent addition to a feedback loop - it won't turn it into a high-pitched squeal like the death metal pedal does.

- I managed to find a second hand one of these dirt cheap at the weekend. Just like the previous review said, the low frequencies don't really stand a chance. For super harsh mic feedback and all-round trebly scratchiness, however, this thing shines. Sweet paint job, too!

- i was a little disapointed to say the least, no bass response...in fact, it'll houdini your bass signal somethin fierce...was expectin something as powerful as the color intensity...

- Less grainy/rough than the Metal Maniac, otherwise pretty similar to it, even in colour intensity. It seems to sustain better than the Metal Maniac too, actually probably better than any of the more "hard" DOD distortions.
- Good Points: Great distortion, for pure harsh noise though needs to be added with other distortions. A middle of the road distortion when considering extremity.
- Bad Points: Only three knobs, needs a delay knob like on the Hard Rock distortion

- don't let the bright pink hair metal paint job fool you. this pedal has some fuel to burn. it squeals like rodents and has some woofing bass goin on inside. it does get a bit old if you use it too long. i might just have to bend it like one of the previous reviewers said.
- Good Points: thicker than a brick. sludge low bass. has the high end covered too. built well.
- Bad Points: bright pink paint job. has the 1/8 th inch power jack.

- This thing is loud, speaker blowingly so. Adds lots of high end whilst keeping the lows intact and can turn a hollow source sound into a thick, fairly raging harsh wall of noise.

- One of my favorite things about this pedal is that it doesn't seem to compress low frequencies the way a lot of distortions do. In fact, I could swear this thing actually added low end to the signal. Combine that withthe fact that it is an uncontrollable feedback machine with the "level" knob turned up past 9 o'clock, and you've got one fine noise box. It's quite loud so take care not to blow up your amp, PA, or whatever. My Thrasmaster melted about a year ago and I've been on the hunt for one ever since. DOD has officially denied all knowledge of this pedal (Could we sell you a Grunge pedal?) so getting it fixed is out of the question. I will definitely get another one, provided they dont become expensive collector items.
- Good Points: Loud, rumbling, feedbacking noise. That, and people will look at you funny for using a neon pink pedal...
- Bad Points: Getting hard to find. Zero customer support available for them (should yours die like mine did).

- Everything said by harshnoise in the header is true, high pitched squealing tone omnipresent w/ the volume turned up past 1/4, either keep the volume low or roll off the tone at least halfway, though why you'd want to is beyond me. This unit had to be the precursor of such insanity as the buzz box and death metal distortion. I added a couple of miniature switches to mine and get all manner of clipping oscillations. Rather uninspiring chained w/ other effects, but a great noise source w/ a little creative circuit bending.
- Good Points: high gain, feeds back w/o effort
- Bad Points: run of the mill distortion when used w/ other effects, paint job
