  • The other reviews on "The Edge" pedal and the Psycho Acoustic Processor, were so bad I had to throw my two cents in. First off...ITS NOT FOR ACOUSTICS...the term psycho-acoustic means it changes how you perceive the sound coming out of your speakers..it does essentially what a BBE maximizer does, divides the signal into three frequency shelves and slightly delays two of theses shelves so it sounds more in the proper phase and therefore clearer to your ears. At least that is my understanding. I know that some of these type devices also use phase inversion and side chain blah blah blah.....basically it just clears up your sound and brings back some lost sparkle.

  • this pedal was originally intended for use with an acoustic instrument...i know you're like so that can't be good for noise, and look it only has one knob!!!, wrong...the first reviewer was right put this after a distortion in your fbl and follow it with another pedal(not necessarily a distortion, try other pedals too) this thing starts to sound like guitar feedback...or if you need a volume boost in your chain, have this follow the low volume culprit or right before a distortion(so it acts like an overdrive of sorts) and crank it up!

  • What this is, is essentially a delay pedal. But not your average delay pedal mind you. It appears to only delay the low frequencies, bringing out the higher frequencies of the signal put through it so that they're the first part of the processed sound which is heard. Giving the illusion of a crisper sound to what it is fed. I had thought putting several of these together in a chain would have made a sharp, cutting blarring squeak out of every noise given to it. Put once I put two of these together and cranked them all the way, it seemingly just mushed the sound up. Possibly I need more than two to hear the effect, but it's possibly that removing all of the high end anywhere along the signal except the front also just takes the life out of your distortion, smears it like when mixing all of the darker paints across the lighter paints and hoping to retain the bright contrasts; and you only end up with brown. This might have nothing to do with the low-delay/high-accentuation and something else to do with what the manual says is mixing back the original signal in notches to remove overload and distortion from the signal in addition to brightening it.
  • Good Points: Might have a use where something really interesting can be done with more than one, just one pedal by itself adds a nice subtle character to the tone.
  • Bad Points: Adding several together, though seemingly has potential to make it very harsh, doesn't seem to make it as much so as one would hope. Muddies the harshness of other distortions or inputs.

  • AWESOME!!! diamond in the rough... This thing can be VERY subtle, and EXTREMELY abrasive. put it between 2 distortions - and you will get great feedback. really adds a eerie touch to odd harmonics.
  • Good Points: dod construction, rare, and fun fun fun...
  • Bad Points: rare, and expensive at times.
