BTW this is a 1U rack unit.
this is my first equalizer, rack or pedal. I'm fairly new to hardware effects, in fact. I've done a lot with max/msp and stuff, and i am quite confident in my knowledge of how effects work. so that's my b/g.
it's wonderful in a feedback loop. it's got 15 db of gain per channel, and each eq-band has +- 15 db of gain.
it's very easy to make this thing create sine-type tones by making one eq band much louder than the rest of them. you can tune this tones rather accurately by using the adjacent band's slider.
on its own in a feedback loop it's rather static, but paired with a delay and a distortion only you get a really wide range of sounds out of it. bowel blasting bass, ear-drum piercing treble, all very much under control.
what i like best about it is how much control it gives over a feedback loop, which can be unruly beasts.
Good Points: (price includes shipping)
cheap, 2 channels, 15 bands each. You can't get 2 15 band eq pedals for this price!
1 rack U, not very deep (~5 inches deep) and rather light.
bypass and low cut buttons, not present on all rack units.
Bad Points: it's not a pedal, it's a rack unit. this might bother some, but it's cheaper than pedals.
the bypass and low cut buttons don't work instantaneously, there is a delay of about 1 second. this probably helps the switching be silent, but you can bet your ass it's not true bypass.
