- I use this pedal mostly for the punch/contouring feature... It "accentuates" my other distortion. I more often than not use them both together.
- Good Points: Adds a pretty nice sound to existing distortions, especially if they're particularly muddy. It's built very well. Also, it's AWFUL PURDY...
- Bad Points: Hard to come by cheaply, but I was lucky enough to get it at little cost. It's not the greatest distortion in the world by itself. It's got a bit of added noise, especially when using other dist.'s with it. A noise gate may help.

- Harsh distortion, very powerful on bass, with Punch at max and Contour in the middle. I use two of these, before an after a Big Muff. Good level of gain and good distorted sound, quite uncommon
- Good Points: -heavy sound -good controls -beautiful color...
- Bad Points: -hard to find -not so good in chain with some pedals

- Terrible guitar distortion, yet a unique little tweak with the Contour and Punch knobs in noise work. I hated this pedal originally because I bought it to play metal through, but now using it with my noise is actually yielding some interesting results. I played this in-line with 2 DOD Death Metals (for dirt) and a 7-band EQ pedal to control all that madness, and it's a nice little trick to have in the chain. Nothing earth-shaking, but worth a 20-spot.
- Good Points: -Unique Contour/Punch controls do more for noise than one would think -Level high and dist. low, with a little reverb gives a nice chorus -GLITTER PAINT JOB
- Bad Points: -Possibly a little limited in it's capabilities -The name hypes it up a bit much

- I quite enjoyed this pedal for noise purposes. The distortion is extremely loud and powerful - probably the most distorted pedal boss produced. The EQ knobs are fairly good and you can get some scorching very harsh noise, and it turns a lot of signals into mush. The XT2 works well in a feedback loop due to it's massive gain and volume. The pedal is very midrangey which can be good to stand out in some mixes, but bassier sounds are rendered tinny. Some murky noise can be got with the tone knobs turned down. It's designed for guitarists after all, but quite they intended to use it without being hidden behind fuzz I'm not sure. Arguabley the prettiest pedal ever made. Beautiful red sparkle paint.
- Good Points: Loud, nasty sound, HARSH noise. Has a bad reputation amoung guitarists so can be picked up dead cheap MIB
- Bad Points: Quite narrow range, Can muddy things, Not that versitile,

- This thing sounds like a heavy overdrive with a Wah pedal attached in the "up" position. It's fairly versitile in that sound range but is limited to that sound range. Have I said "sound range" enough yet?
- Good Points: Cool name, super paint job. "Sound Range".

- I struggled for a long time to find a place for this particular distortion - feedback loop, processing source sounds, microphone/contact mic - and only found it sounded pretty good w/ guitar, which was nver my reason for buying it in the first place. Maybe it had something to do w/ the emphasis placed on midrange boost, but this pedal had weak highs and lows, and a rather thin sounding distortion. A bit of a filter sweeping effect could be coaxed out of the contour control w/ the right sound going through it, but it wasn't really that effective, or even noticeable most of the time. Maybe someone else has had better luck w/ the XT-2, but I would think they would have already posted a review singing its praises. The only cool thing about it was the name, too bad it's entirely misleading.
- Good Points: About as loud as the Metal Zone (yeah, that's kinda grasping at straws)
