- It doesnt really matter if you are into creating harsh bass rumbles, or hard overdriven screeching sound, cause this pedal can really achieve both.
You can acheive more polyphony, you can pitch sounds out of tune, or switch to the overdrive mode to achieve harsh distortion all with a warm "rumbling" feel to it.
All in all a very good pedal. I have used octave effects that sounds more clean, but since I dont want clean sounds, this one is better for me. - Good Points: Easy to achieve rumbling or hard distorted sounds. A monster for sub basses, dark drones and hard overdrive. Definately dirty!
- Bad Points: If you want a clean, smooth sounding octave effect, this is not for you. This is more for the ones into harsh dirty sounds.

- This thing is really great for those who want polyphony. It tracks well and as stated previouslyit creates unholy rumbles and brown noise material(hence the colour I guess). Its easy to use, and even though I now have a whammy I wont part with it as they cover totally different ground. I even like the distortion setting. But then I'm not a metal head or a tone freak.... As yeet I haven't tried it in a feedback loop, when I do I'll post a feedbacl loop review.
- Good Points: built well, sounds good, easy to use.
- Bad Points: no octave up.

- This pedal is the business for producing crackling rumbles, wombing sub-bass and synth like low end drawls. Placed after by Ibanez Smash Box this thing absolutley destroys. The blend knob is very useful for adding shifting textural variations with a constant signal pumping through it too..... can't sing this thing's praises enough!
- Good Points: - Primarily: pumps out enough low end to make stuff fall of shelves, windows fall out of frames, startles animals, etc..... - Multiple modes means maximum flexibility. - Solid Boss construction.
- Bad Points: - A tad expensive new. - The tracking on the distortion mode can be a little flaky which may upset some folks.

- I paid through the ass for this pedal as you might when you buy any Boss pedal new. After much deliberation in the store show the schmucks how to do a feedback loop with brand new merch. I decided this was totally a great purchase to make. At 140 bucks Canadian....not cheap. The OC-3 is awesome as an octave pedal ,you turn it on and boom ,explosive crushing bottom end. I prefer to use the distortion setting as it adds a little more sickness to the over all sound. with the two in two out option,you can really mess around and get some intersting sounds. I use the bass input it and send it out the mono output. Having the three settings Poly,distorion and two octaves down is amazing. The poly can be very interesting in a loop ,really messes with the sound. Overall i feel this pedal is worth every cent, I use it constantly and it never fails to impress me. Plus it's a Boss so it's built like a tank!!
- Good Points: lots of options crazy octave drops Boss quality two ins two outs haven't ran out of uses for this pedal
- Bad Points: the distortion is kind of weak Feces brown in color Pricey

- I owned a Boss OC-3 for a couple of months. I was lucky enough to find one new and cheap in a surplus/salvage store that bought out a local guitar shop that went out of business. :)
- Good Points: Has two different inputs that allow for markedly different results. Creates the sound of wind in a feedback loop with its non-gain modes. Makes certain feedback loop pedals easier to control with input signal nuances when placed in the pre position and set to one of the non-drive modes. The octave tracking glitches can be interesting.
- Bad Points: The drive mode was disappointing and thin (think cheesy prog rock) sounding. The polyphonic octave mode can't handle full chords with 100% stability unless they are arpeggiated (maybe a strength for some) and only provides one octave worth of doubling.
