This pedal is pretty poor. The distortion is like a slightly weaker HM2. Not bad for noise but there's much better.
The chorus/doubling modes don't add much to the sound. You can't control any of the extras.
The only good thing is the stereo outs so you can create an instant feedback loop by plugging one output into the input. It will self ossilate by itself easily.
Good Points: Stereo outs,
Quite nasty distortion,
Cheap to buy on ebay
Bad Points: Overall pretty poor. Worth owning if you don't have many pedals for noise nut don't pay too much for one.

Boss must have been really bored one day, or really stoned. Perhaps both. The distortion itself is ok, not the greatest, but ok. The digital "add-ons" are "ok" but you can't really control anything.
Good Points: Well, it's a Boss. They don't make these anymore. Will probably be a collector's item one day but nobody will know why.
Bad Points: Nothing "bad" per se. I agree with the earlier reviewer, if they would have added a little more control over the whole operation, who knows.

Thin, biting distortion that sounds relatively weak compared w/ the current crop of high gain/output distortions out there. I've used it to a limited extent in the studio, but usually w/ the volume turned way down for quieter, fuzzy moments. The chorus and doubling modes are vitually useless for any style of music - you can get a short, stuttering delayed sound when you switch for one mode to another, but it is very brief and vanishes almost instantly. Too bad this didn't have controls for rate and depth on the chorus/doubling function, could have been done w/ the sort of concentric/stacked controls Boss has a fondness for these days, could have made this a much more interesting pedal.
Good Points: Thin digital sounding distortion could be interesting in the right situation, though I've yet to find it.
Bad Points: Chorus/doubling modes are virtually uselss
