Boss Digital Delay DD-7

Boss Digital Delay DD-7

The Boss Digital Delay DD-7 does everything you would want a delay pedal to do and more! It takes the best features from its predecessors and expands the creative potential with modulation delay mode, classic modeled analog delay mode, external pedal control options, longer delay time, and more.

Features:

  • Expanded Delay Time: Up to 6.4 seconds of delay time is available with the DD-7, a marked increase from its predecessor. In addition, HOLD mode allows up to 40 seconds of input to be recorded for creating 'sound on sound' performances.
  • New Delay Modes: The DD-7 is equipped with two innovative new delay modes. Modulation Delay provides chorus-flavored sounds. Analog Delay offers a modeled simulation of the classic Boss DM-2, beloved for its characteristic warmth.
  • External Control: For hands-free control of the DD-7, an external footswitch and Expression pedal can be used. Tap tempo can be controlled from an external footswitch, while delay time, feedback, and effect level can be changed on the fly via expression pedal.
  • Stereo Output: Create amazing effects with the DD-7's stereo output, such as spatial audio sweeps via true stereo panning. You can also use the stereo outputs to create separate dry and wet signal paths -- handy for recording and live-performance control.

  • This pedal is a monster. One reviewer mentioned

plugging into in a and out b. Well additionally if

you put a jumper between in b and out a you get the

twice-as-long delay plus the normal delay. I use

this pedal every time I make music. It is

indispensable to me. It can do everything from

dreamy traditional long delay leads to total chaos

to walls of noise to strange tone generation. It is

easy to use but also rewards practice and study.
  • Good Points: Long delay, looping function, sick reverse function,

two ins and two outs to encourage more

experimentation. Ability to connect a couple of

    different external controllers.
  • Bad Points: I can't think of any bad points. This pedal is cheap

and opens up worlds of sound and noise.

  • Yowzers this this kicks ass!!!! For one hundred and seventy five bucks it had better kick some ass!! The DD-7 has some amazing features added on, the forty second loop function is awesome for doing sound on sound. The sickest thing you can do is crossing the cords i.e. go into input A and come out input B it doubles the delay times, using the longest delay is punishing. This pedal comes with so many features it boggles the mind. The reverse is really fun to play with, the analog delay is cool but doesn't sound to fucking analog. For the money you really can't go wrong with the DD-7. I have been using it for over a year now and I keep being amazed by it's versatility!!!! Great pedal all the way around!!!!
  • Good Points: Built to withstand an A bomb test too many features to list dual inputs and outputs expression pedal input looks good nice white and blue paint job very versatile
  • Bad Points: other then the price.........nothing

  • This is a great delay pedal when it's doing what it was designed to do; in fact, it's one of the best delays I've ever used in a standard fashion. I use it as a feedback loop master, however, and it's great for that, although it requires some time getting used switching between settings and compensating for the loss of signal. In a floop: the longest settings make some almost turntable scrach-type oscillations, kind of alien and sqwawky; medium settings do what you've heard analog and shorter delays do; the fastest 'normal' setting is basically a tone generator. Other interesting sounds can be had from the modulation and reverse settings. Hold function is cool, probably easier/ better for noise as opposed to other music because getting an exact rhythm to be sampled is a little clunky. Can't effect held samples, but there is sample on sample. It won't save samples either. I personally love this pedal, and it's got about a thousand uses other than flooping.
  • Good Points: It will feedback on itself, even when used "correctly" in a non-feedback chain... lots of settings in one box... can (must!) be used to start a feedback loop... it's a Boss delay, go figure...
  • Bad Points: Switching settings on the fly causes a break in sound, I guess I can't have my cake and eat it too... delay will keep going after pedal is turned off, get used to lowering feedback knob at same time (I wonder how people get over that problem if they're actually using this as a foot pedal and not a hand pedal)... hold function is clunky... reverse mode contains original signal at all but two or three settings.
