The EfexTek Phazix is an analog full-parametric phaser and filter device. Complete with six, rubbery knobs, the Phazix can control all the aspects and parameters of a true phaser effect and then some. At your fingertips, you are able to manipulate the phaser filter's center frequency, Q, gain, LFO speed, LFO amount, and the wet/dry mix. It has a true stereo bypass switch for easy, on-the-fly bypassing. Also on the Phazix is an input gain selection switch for choosing line or MIC level, and a beefy power button. An indicator also lets you know that the Phazix's circuits are ON. Connect a microphone (non-amplified and non-XLR) to the 1/4" input jack, and now you not only have a cool phaser effect on the mic, but you also have added a built-in microphone pre-amp to line level (-10dBu). Is that nice or what? With all of these features in a sweet, brushed aluminum box only 7" x 5" X 3" deep, The Phazix also includes a convenient power supply.

  • Rick Moranis stars in: Honey I blew up the efx pedal... Christ almighty, this thing is needlessly huge. It's like an Xbox had an illegitimate child with a phaser pedal! Bearing all of this in mind, I took a peek at the guts of this thing out of morbid curiosity..there's just no excuse for the damned thing being this large. The effects knobs all turn in random directions as if thrown on willy nilly, and are quite wobbly. Thankfully it does some really fun shit audiowise. Can add some wicked texture to whatever you throw into it as well as shriek and rumble. The phasing rhythms can often prove to be exceptionally long which is a definate plus as most of the phasing stuff I've yet fucked around with only deal in shorter phase cycles, which this can also do if you please.
  • Good Points: Great range of phasing cycles. A lot of interesting sounds and textures can be culled from this device. Fairly cheap
  • Bad Points: Can't say that I'm the biggest fan of the construction. Can be quite finicky and somewhat unpredictable at times, but perhaps that's just my particular unit.

  • This is a different type of phaser effect that really gives the user the tweaking power he/she deserves! Look at all the freakin' knobs! Other phasers only have one or two?!? Forget that! The sound is clean and the variable LFO is tight, responsive, and powerful...with sweeps up and down the full audio spectrum! The wet/dry knob is definitely a perfect addition to the phaser. I wish others had it. I can make subtle changes to full sweeps by just adjusting the mix. Try running straight pink noise through the box and see what I mean! To sum it all up, this box is some good stuff if you are looking for a different, unique effect to throw in your mix. Spend some time with it, tweak its knobs, and I'm sure you will like it!
  • Good Points: Affordable Price; Many parameters to adjust; Power Supply; Clean sound; Quality construction
  • Bad Points: Slightly high profile (5 inches), but all in all a great box!

  • Quality stomp/filter-box for both slight and insane treatments. Adds a clean low-end kick to any track, or provides crazy filter sweeps with adjustable LFO. A must have for every synth owner that isn't satisfied with their synth's current built in filter. Every box can be custom fitted with options (colours, outputs, power source, etc...), all you have to do is ask before ordering. Smooth knob control yielding BIG results. Not difficult to use, and very easy to get quality sounds, with just a quick turn of a knob.
  • Good Points: Sweet sound/freq response. Very responsive. Powerful effects. Big Q. Nice LFO range. Customizable.
  • Bad Points: None.
